Founded in 1946 their mission has always been to promote organic agriculture as a sustainable alternative to intensive farming methods, campaigning for safer, healthier produce and production methods. The Soil Association is a unique certification organisation in that it has standards specific to health and beauty products. These standards were launched in 2002 and strictly govern the ingredients and processes that can be used in the production of organic products.
